Lost The Pot Chip Shop Curry

Very bland. By losing the pot  Pot Noodles have become crap like Super Noodles used to be.

Stuff

You can eat this, but really, why would you? This is like one of Kate's sandwiches. This is not a slag of a snack at all. It's BORING!

MAMA Instant Flat Noodles Tom Yam Flavour

Rice noodles generally aren't my favourite, but I like this packet. I would prefer the noodles to be made from wheat, but this works fine. The noodles are quite wide, which makes them a bit more interesting. The sauce is awesome. Solid savoury flavour, very moreish, not overbearing, and not too salty. There appear to be sesame seeds in the mix, but that is not mentioned on the ingredients. Indeed, the sauce has a sort of sesame oil flavour.  The chilli powder is separate, which is a good idea. I put in half the powder, and that was plenty warm enough for me. Spicy and a just on the border of too hot, it provided a real zing to the dish.

I'd be happy to have them again. Though points deducted for using rice noodles instead of wheat.

Maggi BBQ Beef Flavour

The cup version of this was one of the early reviews I did back in 2015. It's an edible nood, but nothing outstanding.  We added spring onions and chopped baby plum tomatoes in order to help the flavour, but it was still a bit lacking, so needed a bit of salt.  Fairly harmless.

Symington's Naked Curry Malaysian Style Long Grain Rice

This may be a revamped version of the Naked Malaysian Style Curry. Anyway, it's worse than the  Malaysian - rice does not work as nood ingredient. The rice is chewy and worthy and dull. The curry sauce is odd - rather off putting at first, and though we got used to it after a while it never really rose to pleasant.

Epic fail.

Plantastic Protein Boost Satay Noodles

We found the Bolognese Pasta to be rather dry - needing to add more water than suggested in order to make it edible. With this one we found the reverse. This is rather watery and thin.

Overall not impressed. Most noods are veggie (well, most UK ones are - with Asian noods it's probably 50/50) - all it takes is a quick look at the ingredients on the back (not all veggie noods proclaim they are veggie, as this sometimes puts off meat eaters).

Anyway. Edible, but too wishy washy.

Plantastic Protein Boost Bolognese Pasta

A veggie and environmentally friendly  noodle pot from a new company - Plantastic.  It tastes rather dull and worthy. The wheat protein is rather, well, um, chewy. Not a big amount of flavour. Bland is a fair description.

I think the makers have missed out on the obvious, that most noods are already veggie. Pot Noodle also do a Pasta Bolognese without meat, and the packaging is widely recyclable.

Ingredients

On the whole we were not impressed with these. Edible and worthy, yes, but not delicious or exciting.  And rather dry - needing to add more water than suggested in order to make it edible.

YumSu Oriental Style Beef Flavour Instant Noodles

Ooh nice. Soft, creamy, buttery noodles with a spicy sauce. A little salty at first, but the palate soon adjusts. I like these noods. I like them a lot. Bought from B&M Bargains.

No dead cows. OK for veggies
